Get hands-on with fun, functional ways to extend the life of the clothes you already own. Bring something that needs saving, or learn on scraps.
Amy E. Flis is an upcycling artist based in Phoenixville, PA. She earned her BFA in sculpture and metalwork from Moore College of Art & Design, and has spent 26 years working in production embroidery and machine and hand sewing. She was a teaching artist in Chester County for 15 years, and ran a business making jewelry and decor from old bicycles. Now she upcycles clothing to cut down on fabric waste, and turns the scraps into plush monsters. Her focus in life and art: always looking for new ways to be whimsical.
